PechaKucha

Pecha Kucha: proposal for the final major project, initial ideas: Environmental; climate change which is a major issue that is taking place globally and something needs to be done to stop. The idea of this proposal is to spread awareness about climate change and the impact it will have in the future. The painting, ‘The garden of the earthly delights’, by Hieronymus Bosch is one of the great examples which illustrates the future of the earth and the consequences we will have to face if no action is taken. During the study trip to Barcelona there was a protest on the streets by students for climate change. This protest was started by a young Swedish girl Greta Thunberg, 15 August 2018 by herself which turned into a big Climate Strike around the world on march 15 2019.
Proposal 2: Recycle-football ‘Recycleball’ The idea of this proposal is to recycle football t-shirts. Do you know how many football T-shirts end up to land fields or other places or what results to the previous kit? Football t-shirts price form £24-£99, the above slide shows the number of primer league t-shirts sale globally. Every season there is a release of three new kits for the club(home, away and third kit, which suggests that if only the BPL (British primer league)  sells this number of t-shirt/kits the numbers including other division and other international leagues will be massive billions numbers of T-shirts sold globally. During the research I discovered a headline, ‘From threat into thread’: Juventus release new  environmentally-friendly third kit which will be worn by Cristiano Ronaldo Next season’(kit sponsors adidas)’. This shows that some of the football clubs are rational about sustainability.
Proposal 3: Cultural; This proposal is to explore different cultural backgrounds taking a look at how  different culture present themselves through fashion. For example what colour means in the specific culture and the choice of clothing, the religious belief and so on.
