How mothers/ families take on extreme measures to protect their children’s specially daughters.

“Breast massaging aims tell even out different breats sizes and reduce the pain of nursing by massaging their breast with warm objects.Cameroonians now use the practice on girls who develop at a younger age for their alleged safety”.
My thoughts:
Breast Ironing or flattening is a painful and unbelievable process carried out by using hard or heated objects like sltones or metals: ‘ wooden pestle normally used for pounding tubers. Other tools used include leaves, bananas, coconut shells, grinding stones, ladles, spatulasand hammers heated over coals”. This is done to stop the developing and to disappear the breast.
This process is typically carried out by the victims mothers themselves, and the reason for them to do this is to protect their daughters from sexual harassment and rape; to prevent families name being vandalised by early pregnancy or to avoid early marriage so that they can be educated. As this process keeps the males away and the daughters/ women’s safe.
This also has a negative effect on the women’s health: damage of tissue, breastfeeding the child, depression, breast cancer and mental trauma. This also can have on impact on their appearance by making them lose confidence.

“It’s usually done in the UK, not abroad like female genital mutilation (FGM),” she said, describing a practice whereby mothers, aunties or grandmothers use a hot stone to massage across the breast repeatedly in order to “break the tissue” and slow its growth.”
“Sometimes they do it once a week, or once every two weeks, depending on how it comes back,”

“Breast ironing is child abuse and it is illegal,” she said. “No one should suffer because of who they are or which community they are born into.”
Susan Williams.
My thoughts:
It is very shocking to know that “ Breast ironing” is practiced in the UK. Although it’s a aferican cultural tradition practice which we may think of only being done in that part of the country; But no, it is prevalent in many parts of the UK and is not seen or no action is taken to stop and consider it as an illegal practice. Young girls aged 10 years old are breast ironed to cover puberty and form the eyes of males, to prevent them form being victims of sexual abuse etc.
Why do young girls and women’s have to go through the process, it’s not a protocol that is a priority, it’s not their fault; why do they have to suffer because of others bad action?
Criminals who run human trafficking should me executed ruther then giving them a Prsion sentence. As they are family’s taking major steps to protect the idea children form evil, all because the bad in the society that we live in.
Concluding, the government should consider breast ironing as illegal as it is a form of child abuse.
