Barcelona trip

Study trip to Barcelona, firstly it was a great experience as I had good time exploring Barcelona and also enjoying the sunny weather. The visits to the museum were very useful, Muse del Disseny de Barcelona ( the design museum ) was a great trip as it had a section dedicated to fashion design which I liked as well as the product design section which was intresting.

Some of the images from Muse del Disseny del Barcelona, from fashion design, graphic and other exhibitions. (Above)

Visit to Museu Nacional D’Art De Catalunya and museu Picasso; I liked the rough sketches at the Picasso museum as the marks were simple and eye catching as you can see from the examples above on the right. Visit to Museu Nacional was a long walk as we also explored the stress on our way to the museum. The view form the top was spectacular as you can see the whole of Barcelona for the top ( the Walk was worth it), the museum was great but, unlucky as we were later and only had 20 minutes to explore, but I would have like to have another visit to the museum if we had more time, as it had some great things on exhibits.

Moodboard

As an out come from the pecha kucha, the three proposals: Climate change, recycleball and cultural; where not a success as the first to proposal climate change and recycleball were relatively similar to my pervious project which I have done. The fourth final proposal that I could think of for the final major project was about human trafficking which is a massive issue globally, was influenced by 2018 movie, “Love Sonia” is a harrowing story of two sisters, of one who the dept-ridden father sells the daughter, and other one who follows in search of her sister in hope of rescuing her gets herself trapped in the flesh trade. Moving further with my research I discovered the different types of human trafficking: Child labour, forced labour, sexual Slavery, child sexual exploitation, familial trafficking and other forms of trafficking. Moving further on global issues on trafficking I obtained the UNODC (United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime), global report on trafficking in persons 2018, which manifested report on different type of trafficking around globally with different statically information for specific gender group, countries and type of trafficking. further on I will also research the health issues on the victims physical and mental health problems: depression, anxiety, drug addiction including cultural reasons (people selling their children for money, due to dept, shelter or food. After life of the victim following trafficking, is it normal; society, do they accept them? neglect them? ashamed? and what action does the government take or do they even care? This project can be taken in many direction as there are various outcomes.

PechaKucha

Pecha Kucha: proposal for the final major project, initial ideas: Environmental; climate change which is a major issue that is taking place globally and something needs to be done to stop. The idea of this proposal is to spread awareness about climate change and the impact it will have in the future. The painting, ‘The garden of the earthly delights’, by Hieronymus Bosch is one of the great examples which illustrates the future of the earth and the consequences we will have to face if no action is taken. During the study trip to Barcelona there was a protest on the streets by students for climate change. This protest was started by a young Swedish girl Greta Thunberg, 15 August 2018 by herself which turned into a big Climate Strike around the world on march 15 2019.
Proposal 2: Recycle-football ‘Recycleball’ The idea of this proposal is to recycle football t-shirts. Do you know how many football T-shirts end up to land fields or other places or what results to the previous kit? Football t-shirts price form £24-£99, the above slide shows the number of primer league t-shirts sale globally. Every season there is a release of three new kits for the club(home, away and third kit, which suggests that if only the BPL (British primer league)  sells this number of t-shirt/kits the numbers including other division and other international leagues will be massive billions numbers of T-shirts sold globally. During the research I discovered a headline, ‘From threat into thread’: Juventus release new  environmentally-friendly third kit which will be worn by Cristiano Ronaldo Next season’(kit sponsors adidas)’. This shows that some of the football clubs are rational about sustainability.
Proposal 3: Cultural; This proposal is to explore different cultural backgrounds taking a look at how  different culture present themselves through fashion. For example what colour means in the specific culture and the choice of clothing, the religious belief and so on.
